Spotting Scope
Spotting scopes are usually used for higher power observing both in the field and at home and they are ideal for bird watching, range shooting, hunting or just simply general viewing when high power is needed. Most feature a zoom capability which allows a viewer in a fixed location to scan a wide field area, then when an object is spotted, that distant object can be brought into the eyepiece at high magnification to catch all the details at a high definition contrast. Some spotting scopes are fixed power for an instant magnified view.
