Pros:
The online reviews were right on. It's a good safe for whatever. My purpose was to secure firearms and have immediate access to them. The locking mechanism works great. It isn't a really small safe. A cheaper price would have been even more attractive.

Pros:
I debated for months over which safe to buy. I knew I wanted biometric for quick access and had looked at the Gunvault. However I just was not quite satisfied with its construction. This safe was sort of a last minute find. So far I am quite pleased. I was not sure, having never physically examined this one prior to purchase, whether it would be big enough, strong enough or easy enough access. I must say, it is a simple design but has ample space for several firearms and room to spare for ammo or other valuables. The set up was easy and, so far, I have had no access issues.

Pros:
Very easy and fast to operate. Just remember to push and hold inside button when scanning your prints. Beep not as loud or long as I expected from other reviews but loud enough that if I was in the home I could hear it being opened by someone. Having little kids around the beep is a great feature for me. Enjoy!

This has been a great purchase for us. When I got it I was concerned about the "loud" beep it supposedly would make when it's opened, but once I got the batteries in, registered my thumb print and then opened it, I started laughing! Unless I got an unusually quiet unit, you've got to be kidding! The beep just lets you know it's working. If we're ever in a situation where we have to quickly get our gun, the mild beep will be a non-issue.
The unit we received is the exact right size for us, it was simple to register my and my wife's thumb prints (as per suggestion from others, we registered both thumbs a few times), and it is exactly the type of safe gun storage unit my wife and I were looking for.

Program in more then one finger so you don't have to remember which finger to scan
Programing the Barska Biometric Safe to Store a
Fingerprint All new Barska Biometric Safes will be in demo mode when
you first put in the 4 AA batteries (included). This means that any action of
scanning a finger will open the safe. You will need to program your fingerprint
into the system to lock the safe.
Quick Start Guide:
Make sure you have installed batteries into the safe.
Push and release the programing button on the inside of the safe, you will
hear one beep.
Then place and hold your finger on the optical sensor to be scanned
Hold your finger on the optical sensor until you hear two more beeps which
signal that your fingerprint has been stored successfully. Fingerprint
programming is now complete.
To add more fingerprints simply repeat steps 1–3.
Helpful Note: You may want to scan multiple fingers
into the safe system incase you forget which finger you have stored. Also over
time your fingerprints may get damaged do to cuts or burns. If you have had an
injury to your finger you may want to rescan your fingerprint after it has fully
healed.
Back-Up / Secondary Access The Barska biometric safe
comes with two back up keys . The back up keys can be used only by removing the
barska logo plate with an allen wrench.
Battery Life & Power Usage The Barska biometric
drawer safe uses very little power and can last up to two years on 4 AA
batteries which are included.
